Abstract

Background and Aims: Angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (ACE-I) are widely used in therapy of CVD, due to their cardioprotective and vasculoprotective effects. However, the consensus of the effect of ACE-I on the control of myocardial oxygen consumption (MVO2) under the condition of endothelial dysfunction has not been reached yet. The aims of the study were to determine the influence of ramipril on MVO2 and oxidative stress biomarkers during the course of experimental hypercholesterolemia.
