Abstract

Background In recent years, ischemic preconditioning(IPC) has been widely stuided. The ATP-sensitive potassium channel(KATP), which acts as a key end-effector in the pathways of intracellular signaling transduction, has gained wide attention because of its important role in the IPC. Objective To further clarify the pathophysiology of the IPC and provide theoretical basis for clinical work. Content This article reviews the research progress of the sarcolemmal ATP-sensitive potassium channel (sarcKATP) as well as its role in myocardial IPC. This article reviews the physiological characteristics of the sarcolemmal ATP-sensitive potassium channels (sarcKATP) channel, its role in myocardial IPC as well as its regulatory mechanism. Trend Regulating sarcKATP-targeted study is promising candidate for IPC. Key words: ATP-sensitive potassium channels; Ischemic preconditioning; Cardioprotection
