Abstract

The article is devoted to Mykhailo Sikorsky, a well-known cultural and public figure of Ukraine, historian, ethnographer, museum expert, archaeologist, and creator of the National Historical and Ethnographic Reserve ‘Pereyaslav’. The historiography of the topic is briefly presented. Attention is focused on the fact that to date, the student period (1946-1951) of M. Sikorsky's biography has been little studied. The factors that influenced the formation of the young man's values and worldview are revealed. The article describes the teachers whose courses Mykhailo studied. It describes the first stepsof research work, the choice of topics for term papers, and diploma theses. The authors do not avoid the problems of student life during the years of study.
