Abstract

Myeloma cast nephropathy is an obstructing disorder of renal tubules, caused by precipitation of Bence Jones and Tamm-Horsfall proteins and others to form angulated and brittle casts. Myeloma-like cast nephropathy occurs in non-myeloma patients with history of antibiotic therapy, Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia, B-cell lymphomas and certain carcinomas.
