Mycotic Aneurysm of the Abdominal Aorta

Abstract

A 53-year-old male underwent open repair of a mycotic aneurysm of the infrarenal abdominal aorta with direct in-line reconstruction using Dacron graft. Infection was caused by E. coli. Patient subsequently developed osteomyelitis of the lumbar spine which was treated with prolonged course of antibiotics.
