Abstract

The present report describes a first case of N. blacklockiae as a causative agent of mycetoma of foot. It is an unusual Nocardia species and a member of the Nocardia transvalensis complex. N. blacklockiae has been isolated from cases of pulmonary nocardiosis earlier but this is a first case of mycetoma caused by this bacteria. The organism was isolated from the lesion. This case is reported to emphasise the importance of the species identification and its association with this rare disease.
