Abstract

There has been very little written about the experiences of an Executive-in-Residence in a College of Education (School/Department in the UK context). This first-person reflection examines the role, expectations, benefits, and frustrations of this “middle leader” position. Further research in this area is recommended to explore whether the long-term advantages of appointing retired school superintendents to this position exist.
