Abstract

Lmany facets of the contemporary Mexican mind. This accomplishment in some substantial measure may be attributed to Leopoldo Zea's editorship of the series, for he formulated the philosophical framework that lends to its diverse components a coherent unity. The contributors to this series share a common objective: to discover the national ethos of Mexican culture. Few of these volumes exceed one hundred pages, hence they are not intended to be works of exhaustive or original investigation. They are actually syntheses of prior monographic investigations, revisions of previously printed works, or hypotheses for future research. To reach the large audience of non-specialists is the announced objective.
