Abstract

The elements of the uniform circular array inevitably suffer from gain and phase errors in practical applications, which seriously reduce the performance of beamforming algorithm. The paper first analyzes the impact of gain and phase errors on MVDR performance, then proposes a self-correction algorithm for the estimation of gain and phase errors. The MVDR performance based on corrected array manifold is compared to the counterparts with the abovementioned errors through numerical simulations, illustrating the proposed method effectively overcomes the influence of gain and phase errors.
