Abstract

Design and process preparation of production is one of the most important management and planning processes that determines the final result of work. The process covers the entire cycle from product designing to production thereof. The competitiveness and quality of products and, ultimately, the economic status of the enterprise directly depend on how effectively this process is organized. The analysis of development of theoretical principles and development of methodological tools for the economic design of mechanical engineering products based on the profiling of products and production has been carried out. It is shown that there is a process gap between product development and commencement of production thereof. An algorithm is proposed for the mutual optimization of design and process preparation of production on the basis of advance process preparation of production carried out simultaneously with development of the product. Comparison of technical and economic profile of the product and the process profile of production at the design stage will make it possible to quickly change the structure in order to proportionally align process needs for manufacture of products with process capabilities of production.
