Abstract

For the investigation of the mutual influence of the stress field and the corresponding hydrogen concentration in the elastic body, we propose a system of equations of the gradient-tensor type. As a result of the analysis of this system, we establish the relations connecting the hydrogen concentration with the relative volume expansion (dilatation) of the metal and hydrostatic pressure. The dependence of stresses on the depth of penetration of hydrogen from the surface of its contact with hydrogen-containing media and the dependence of the concentration of hydrogen on the time of hydrogenation are obtained.
