Abstract

Interdiffusion coefficients for liquid cesium–bismuth alloys containing from 20 to 40 at. % Bi are measured using a gamma-ray attenuation technique. The obtained results are compared with the data on mutual diffusion in the rubidium–bismuth melts studied earlier. The comparison shows that the concentration dependences of the interdiffusion coefficient for Rb–Bi and Cs–Bi liquid systems demonstrate common features, namely, pronounced maxima at certain compositions. The origin of these features is briefly discussed.
