Abstract

Mutual coupling is a common problem in antenna arrays, that have destructive effects on antenna performance. Several methods have already been proposed to reduce or compensate the mutual coupling between array elements. In this paper, mutual coupling between the elements of a small dipole antenna array with three dipole element and Taylor excitation is compensated using the isolated-element pattern approach. For this purpose, MATLAB and CST softwares are used. Indeed, by using the mutual coupling compensation, it is attempted to modify the antenna array parameters such as pattern, directivity, sidelobe level (SLL), etc. which change with destructive mutual coupling effect.
