To prevent such a risk, a study on urban design and revitalisation is needed. Analysing the history of how these spaces developed and studying their morphology may help us to define alternative redevelopment strategies suitable for the towns in questions. A foretaste of this study was given as an exercise to students at the Lyon School of Architecture.
