Abstract
The primary objective of this paper is to examine the western relationship with the Muslim world. More importantly to trace western encounters with the Muslim world briefly. This paper highlights the importance of developing a strong mutual trust, understanding and cooperation between the west and Muslim world to promote peace. Multiculturalism and pluralism are part and parcel of modern-day life. Modern digital technologies, information explosions and globalization have made this planet as a virtual world. Humanity lives in a borderless world. Therefore, promoting peace and inter-community harmony is imperative in this volatile world. This paper presents a historical survey on Muslim encounters with west briefly with some solid suggestions to enhance this inter-community relations further.
