Abstract

The ambiguity of the category ‘Muslim women’ is emphasised at the very beginning of the introduction. This upfront addressing of an ambiguity demonstrates Constanze Volkmann’s awareness of the complexity of identifications in a highly politicised area, namely the amalgamation of Islam, migration, and gender.
