Abstract
To identify and build upon successful strategies for providing music therapy as a standardized, non-pharmacologic intervention for relief of postoperative pain in a pediatric tertiary medical center. This presentation will describe initial research completed with pediatric patients following scoliosis surgery and subsequent strategies currently underway to expand services to other pediatric patients undergoing painful surgeries. Video clips describing a music therapy session and case studies will be provided throughout the presentation.
