Abstract

The research paper is explores one of the main areas of the of Les Kurbas’s creative practice — Les Kurbas’s development of a national theater based on the principles of avant-garde culture, which was one of the main areas of his creative practice. It is the second part of the article Music in the reforming activities of Les Kurbas (for the first part see: MIST: Art, history, modernity, theory: collection of scientific works. Kyiv, 2021. Issue 17. pp. 36–67). Special attention is paid to how expressionism and constructivism have influenced the artistic experience of the national stage. Various approaches to the use of music, musical terminology, the structure of individual musical forms in the process of building a performance, creating its figurative language are analyzed. Also, collaboration with composers A. Butsky (Gas, Jimmy Higgins, Macbeth) and Y. Maytus (Dictatorship, Maclean Gras) is explored.
