Abstract
Abstract This book forms the fourth volume of an ongoing series on 19th-century French musical life, under the general editorship of Robert Cohen and Yves Gerard, published by Pendragon in collaboration with the Centre for Studies in 19th-century Music. The majority of the volumes already published or in preparation are volumes of source materials, such as selected facsimile stage manuals for Parisian operatic premieres, and the reproduction. of musical engravings in L'Illustration. One of the most exciting ventures of the Centre is RIPM (Repertoire International de la Presse Musicale), the publication by UMI of indexes for music periodicals from the late 18th century to the early 20th century.
