Abstract
The article gives a brief excursion into the history of the development of music for wind instruments in China. The author notes that the fi rst compositions were created on the basis of folk songs and were arrangements. Since the 1980s, Chinese composers, along with transcriptions of songs, instrumental melodies and musical material from operas, have been writing original works for wind instruments and incorporating modern techniques into them, combining national elements with European innovations.
