The Studio Teacher. We shall be dealing mainly with the public sector, that is the educational establishments maintained by the State; but before doing so it is necessary to say a little about music in the private sector of education. This includes the large, but dwindling, number of individuals who operate privately in their own studios or in their own homes, usually teaching individual pupils to play an instrument or to sing, and relying for a living upon fees.
