Music Education for Adults: A Swedish Perspective

Abstract

During the last forty years many official reports have been presented and suggestions made about Swedish cultural life in its various aspects. The educational system has been thoroughly reorganized. New institutions have been created in support of more and better culture. In the field of music there has been a reform of the education of musicians and teachers of music, an Institute for National Concerts has been established, and the old military bands have been put on a civilian footing.
