Abstract

The narcocorrido is a contemporary musical expression in Mexico, and they are songs produced in a style called: música norteña, in which recreate stories of drug trafficking. The aim of this study is to explore the narcocorridos in the daily lives of young people. I am interesting in this genre and its fans. During my ethnographic fieldwork I focused on the practices, contexts, senses and mediators that link that kind of music with its audience. In this paper I develop the idea of mediation proposed by Actor-network Theory and Theory of Mediation, I explain how I have used it in the study of narcocorridos.
