Abstract
Physical therapists who deal with the treatment and prevention of work-related musculoskeletal disorders need to remind company officials of the adage, “pay me now or pay me later.” In regard to musculoskeletal complaints, it's ultimately cost-effective to pay attention to and deal with musculoskeletal symptoms before they become disabilities, before the quality of the company's products and services suffers, and before profitability is seriously affected. Now, more than ever, in today's global economy, good ergonomics is good economics. J Orthop Sports Phys Ther 1998;27(4):253–254. doi:10.2519/jospt.1998.27.4.253
