Abstract

Resection of the lateral rectus muscle with end-to-end suturing of the sectioned muscle segments in combination with marginal myotomies of the medial rectus muscles corrected a large angle esotropia in a patient with severe myopia and retinal damage. This approach may be considered as an alternative to conventional muscle surgery in patients in whom scleral suturing must be avoided.
