Abstract
This article describes possibilities of using optical sensor MAX30105 as a tool for muscle activity detection and measurement. On the beginning, there is a preview to another works, where muscle activity was measured for different purposes and with a number of methods. Own measurement with the usage of visible light as well as near infrared was focused on upper limbs, especially on forearm and shoulder muscles. These data are compared with signals registered with gyroscope and one channel electromyography (EMG). Some measurements were done on several volunteers in order to confirm the effectiveness of this method.
