Abstract

This paper examines the last work by Sir Thomas Browne published in his lifetime, an imaginary cabinet of curiosities. The sale catalogue (17 1011 ) of some of his, and of his son Edward's books is discussed. Other collections are mentioned, including those of Imperato, Calzolari, Tradescant, and Worm. Several of the imaginary objects and books are considered mth reference to the sale catalogue and Browne's earlier writings.
