Abstract

The new alkaloid muricatisine has been isolated from the epigeal parts of the plantsOxytropis muricata (Pall.) DC. (Mongolia) andO. puberula Boriss. (Kazakhstan), which belong to the Fabaceae family, and its structure has been established on the basis of spectral characteristics as N-benzoyl-2-oxo-2-phenylethylamine and has been confirmed by a partial synthesis.
