Abstract
The electrochromic device was fabricated using multiwalled carbon nanotubes along with ethyl viologen diperchlorate in polyethylene oxide. Doping of multiwalled carbon nanotubes in the electrolytic gel of the device exploits its electrical transport potential. A fusion of (inorganic–organic) finished tools indicates the most efficient colour switching with a minute bias and high colour contrast when switched to neon-blue coloured states. The electrical current–voltage characteristics of the device properly validates its operating mechanism. The fabricated device is having capability to switch over from a transparent to the neon blue coloured state in presence of a potential. A contrast neon blue colour of the device was observed at 1.9 V.
