Abstract

The paper discusses a recent case study of Box-Jenkins multivariate techniques in the area of short-term energy demand forecasting by (i) explaining the reasons for adopting Box-Jenkins techniques; (ii) showing how the scale of the problem can be reduced by introducing a two-stage forecasting model; (iii) showing how the models performed against historical data in 1983.
