Abstract

Abstract The paper presents some important results from.investigations into multivariable self-tuning controllers with particular emphasis being placed upon system model and controller structures. Both quadratic and diagonal representations of the system transfer function matrix are considered. Use of full and diagonal controller structures are also investigated along with k-incremental, hybrid, polynomial pole-placement and state-space pole-placement controllers in a multivariable environment. The control policies are examined Using linear system models as well as being tested on a highly non-linear distillation column model.
