Abstract

To resolve local convergence problem of the standard discrete particle swarm optimization algorithm, a novel particle swarm optimization algorithm (NPSO) that using new move equations is presented. Based on the simulated annealing and the NPSO, a simulated annealing particle swarm optimization (SAPSO) is proposed to solve multiuser detection problem of code division multiple access (CDMA) systems. By hybridizing the simulated annealing, the NPSO and the Hopfield neural network, the new algorithm can search global optimal solution in faster convergence rate. Simulation results for synchronous and asynchronous case are provided to show that the designed detector is superior to the conventional detector and some previous detectors in bit error rate (BER), multiple access interference and near-far resistance.
