Multitasking intelligent surveillance and first response system

Abstract

Safeguarding the United States' border is crucial. There could be threats at the borders from illegal immigration, gun trafficking, drug trafficking and terrorists' attacks. Current monitoring and surveillance systems are difficult and expensive to monitor in real time. In this paper, we developed an intelligent and cost effective technology platform for an intelligent monitoring system that integrates various emerging advanced technologies. The technologies used for our intelligent monitoring system are: Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), an intelligent and self-managing Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), image mining and remote sensing, and data mining. The UAV is equipped with remote sensing technologies that will be applied to monitor for any illegal activities among the borders. The Intelligent WSN is developed where a data fusion is integrated to combine the real-time output from various sensors. Finally a data mining engine is developed to consolidate multi data from various sources.
