Abstract

The rock's microstructure is of great significance to rock's mechanical properties and permeability. In this experiment, the changes in rock multi-scale structure after different damage are studied. The results show that the damage is more severe under a high compression ratio. Macrocracks play a major role in porosity change. With the increase of rock load, the large cracks inside the rock increase, and when the rock load reaches a critical value, the pores inside the rock suddenly increase. The damage evolution equation based on NMR characteristics is established, which clearly characterizes the damage rule of multi-scale structures in the process of rock loading. The process of rock instability is the result of the synergistic action of multi-scale structures and the process of fracture propagation from quantitative to qualitative change.
