Abstract
A theoretical estimate of bearing characteristics is made for multi-recess hydrostatic oil journal bearings with sinusoidal squeeze film. Performance curves of a finite journal bearing having four recesses are given for various bearing design parameters, eccentricity ratios and squeeze numbers.
