Abstract

This paper proposes a multiport hexagonal antenna array for RF energy harvesting applications. The hexagonal antenna array is intended to operate at a frequency of 5.8 GHz. It is made up of six multilayer substrate antennas that are excited by an aperture-coupling feed structure. The main advantage of the proposed hexagonal antenna array is its ability to cover 360 degrees in the azimuth plane with good gain in all directions without the use of any additional circuitry, allowing effective absorption of ambient RF energy.
