Abstract

In this paper the mathematical expression for calculation of the signal received by meteorological radar antenna with arbitrary polarization taking into account drop deformation under wind influence is obtained. The signals reflected from liquid hydrometeors assemble with the antennas of multi polarimetric radar for different drop size distributions cases are simulated and analyzed. This demonstrates the possibility to estimate wind and wind related phenomena using polarimety. Additionally, the simulation results can be used to exclude an impact of drop vibration and oscillation into radar signal to eliminate errors and underestimation when parameter measurements.
