Abstract

We show how to include multiply diffractive events in a bootstrap model, such that the cross section grows, but does not violate the Froissart bound. We exploit the consequences for the multiplicity distribution. Furthermore it is shown that non-asymptotic effects are important for an understanding of the correlations. A quantitative analysis is made, which shows that experimentally observable effects, connected with the multiply diffractive events, are expected at presently available energies.
