Abstract

We report the first experiments on angularly multiplexed short-pulse amplification in an electron-beam pumped KrF laser. The gain and extraction efficiency of the amplifier were studied as a function of input energy for pulse lengths of 5 and 12 ns with a pulse separation of 12 ns. The maximum output energy per pulse was the same for both pulse lengths, indicating equal extraction efficiencies in the two cases. The data are in good agreement with computer simulations using a modified Franz-Nodvik model.
