Abstract

A multiplexed white light interferometric fiber optic sensors matrix system was designed and demonstrated. In this system, a Mach–Zehnder optical path interrogating technique is used to demodulate each sensor of the sensors matrix. The sensors matrix consists of M× N sensing elements linked by a 1× M star coupler. The multiplexing capacity of the sensing scheme has been analyzed and an experimental result with a 2×2 sensors matrix was presented.
