Abstract

In this paper, we study the implementations of multiple testing procedure (MTP) for multiband spectrum sensing in cognitive radio, more precisely using Holm's sequentially rejective algorithm and Benjamini-Hochberg's algorithm. MTP is appropriate for multiband spectrum sensing when we want to provide control on the decision errors at the system level, not per subband. This approach is motivated when the primary network and the cognitive radio (CR) network use multicarrier-based system, in which a primary user and CR user can use several subbands at a time to transmit data. Simulation results show that the Benjamini-Hochberg procedure is more appropriate than the Holm procedure, in terms of providing a proper balance between familywise error rate (FWE) and familywise miss detection rate (FWM).
