Abstract

Bladder dysfunction in multiple sclerosis (MS) often results in distressing urinary symptoms that can seriously limit daily activities and have an adverse effect on quality of life. Professionals managing patients with MS should have a good understanding of the bladder dysfunction and the modern treatments available to control the urinary symptoms. Fortunately, with simple investigations and the institution of appropriate treatment continence can often be achieved. In view of the progressive nature of multiple sclerosis the patients need regular review of their bladder management by a well-trained multidisciplinary team.
