Abstract

A technique from multiple-scale singular perturbation theory is used to derive a solution to the equations of the direct interaction approximation for turbulence valid in the limit \ensuremath{\varepsilon}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}0. This approach permits non-self-similar solutions to be derived which reduce to the renormalization-group results in the special case of self-similar forcing.
