Abstract

Magneto-optical experiments in polar Kerr geometry at normal incidence are considered on semi-transparent specimens whose thickness is much larger than the wavelength of the probing radiation. Experimental data on a yttrium iron garnet sample are compared to the results of calculations which take into account the influence of incoherent multiple reflections between the sample faces.
