Abstract

Question: A 79-year-old man with a history of primary follicular lymphoma (FL) of the ileum was referred to our department for a follow-up endoscopy. He was diagnosed with stage II primary ileal FL and inguinal lymph node dissemination 13 years before. Ileocolonoscopy performed at the time of the FL diagnosis revealed multiple lymphomatous polypoid lesions in the terminal ileum (Figure A). A histologic diagnosis of FL was made by endoscopic biopsy revealing neoplastic cells positive for CD20, CD10 (Figure B), and BCL2 (Figure C), which disrupted the architecture of the lymphoid follicles and infiltrated the mucosa and submucosa.
