Abstract

The composite insulator is mainly composed of epoxy resin core rod and silicone rubber umbrella sleeve, which will appear obvious aging after long-term outdoor operation. The performance deterioration of the umbrella shed and the bonding surface of core rod will lead to the deterioration of the overall insulation performance of the insulator and pose a threat to the safe operation of the transmission line. In order to study the aging law of main properties such as hydrophobicity, insulator samples with different service life are collected. The appearance inspection, hydrophobicity test, hardness and tear strength test of umbrella shed are carried out to analyze the aging characteristics of umbrella shed silicone rubber from the macro level. The water diffusion test is carried out on the core rod samples to analyze the change rule of the insulation performance of the core rod bonding surface with the service life.
