Abstract

Paris recently authored a Journal note dealing with linear-programming multiple-alternative optimal solutions, validation, and programming-econometric interrelationships. We agree with Paris' fundamental theme that linear program multiple solutions requires more attention. However, there are several items which we believe merit comment. Specifically, we discuss Paris' presentations of multiple optimal solutions, validation, and identification. We also briefly comment on some generalizations drawn by Paris.
