Klemme1in 1933 reported five cases which he had observed in a three year period. Paul and Pohle2found 14 cases of myeloma of the spine in 45 cases of solitary myeloma of bone, whereas Pasternack and Waugh3noted that four of 30 cases of solitary myeloma of bone occurred in the spine. Denker and Brock4point out that many myelomas begin in a vertebral body and "announce their presence by compression of the cord."
