Abstract

In this brief, we consider multiple line-outage detection problem based on dynamic model of the power system subjects to load stochastic perturbations. A novel detection algorithm is proposed using data obtained from phase measurement units (PMUs). In order to reduce the computation burden, the algorithm is further improved by means of introducing the original topology of power system. Moreover, we propose a predictive algorithm to solve the sampling interval problem of data acquisition. Finally, simulation results are given to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed algorithm.
