Abstract

Elastoma (elastic nevus) is a variant of connective tissue nevi. Its main abnormality is the increased dermal elastic tissue. It may be solitary or multiple, the multiplicity being often seen in Buschke-Ollendorff syndrome. The latter is an inherited rare disorder of connective tissue characterized by multiple cutaneous connective tissue hamartomas and osteopoikilosis. It is transmitted by an autosomal dominant trait. In the actual case the child presented multiple bilateral elastomas confirmed by routine and special stain examination without bone involvement or family members affected.
